What to consider when puchase a CPU.

What is CPU?What terms to consider when buying a CPU?

The CPU (central processing uni) It's the brains of the computer. Sometimes referred to simply as the central processor, but more commonly called processor, the CPU is where most calculations take place. In terms of computing power, the CPU is the most important element of a computer system.

Multi-Core Processors.
Multi-core refers to a CPU that includes more then one complete execution cores per physical processor. It combines multi (Minimum two) processors and their caches and cache controllers onto a single integrated circuit (silicon chip). It is basically two /more than two separate processors in one box.

The trend is expanding very fast .Currently,The dual core are what most popular choice .
Dual-core processors are well-suited for multitasking environments because there are two complete execution cores instead of one.

Judging from the current trend, it is with the mainboard, memory and other computer accessories of the rapid upgrade to support the Multi core Processors platform .The trend will gradually enter the mainstream application areas, the decline in prices of four core processors will also pave the way for the popularity.

FSB
The FSB is a short form for Front Side Bus.It's the connection between the CPU and system memory. The Front Side Bus operates at a speed which is a percentage of the CPU clock speed. The faster the speed, the better the performance of the CPU.

The Cache
The purpose of a cache is to enable the CPU to access recently used information very quickly.
A cache will significantly affect CPU performance..A cache operates at a certain speed in (kb) A typical L1 cache is 256Kb and a typical L2 cache is 1MB.The larger the cache,The larger the cache, the better the system performance boost. But it also depends on the CPU. Some caches operate at the full speed of the CPU, while others operate at half that speed or less.

The Battle is between AMD vs. Intel.

As the CPU database currently stands, there is a wide array of processors that you can compare although the list of applications you can compare may leave something to be desired.
